Mentoring support for organisations
The UKRC and WISE have worked with many organisations and businesses to establish mentoring schemes.
Such schemes bring lots of benefits for the organisations and individuals involved, including better loyalty and retention and improved career progression. We offer a package of advice and practical help which can be tailored to suit individual needs and budgets. We aim to pass on the knowledge, skills and materials you need to run your own mentoring scheme and to offer ongoing advice on encompassing best practice.
If you are an individual woman with no access to a mentoring scheme, ask your professional body, employer, women’s network, trades union or other organisation to contact us. We can provide them with advice and tailored practical support. See our Mentoring Good Practice Guide for inital advice and case studies.
Mentoring can be especially beneficial for women who work in male-dominated environments where a lack of female role models can lead to feelings of isolation and high staff turnover. The support of a mentor can increase motivation and confidence, build a range of skills, promote networking and help with career planning.
“I have found the UKRC incredibly helpful in facilitating our mentoring scheme for Women in Ecology. I know that both mentors and mentees have benefited from the training the UKRC has provided, and the support it offered them throughout the duration of the scheme.”
