Role Summary:

The role is for a duration of 12 months suitable for sandwich students of a relevant Engineering subject at University.

You will gain valuable insight into the day to day running in the engineering department.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Will be working closely with other members of the Engineering departments, providing support to the wider team. You will play an integral role in executing short and/or long-term projects.
• Provide technical support to production teams in a vast range of manufacturing processes as part of a team and as an individual
• Problem solve day to day production issues
• Implement LEAN methodology to existing and new production processes for Gross profit margin improvement.
• Participate in the integration of new product package to the business working with all aspects of manufacture; from design requirements through to fit for manufacture requirements.
• Interpret and understand detailed customer product drawings and specifications.
• Maintain Quality as a fundamental value in the business.
• Act as an interface between internal and external customer bases

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Studying towards a degree in Engineering or Manufacturing.
• Applicants should be able to demonstrate an interest in manufacturing processes.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and IT
• Ability to contribute effectively to team-working and group discussions
• Producing clear and precise written reports
• Ability to work to timescales, achieve personal deadlines and contribute to team deadlines
• Ability to energise teams and create an engaging work environment, promoting inclusiveness.
• External focus, ability to consider the external impact of business activities and decisions on customers, market/industry, investors, media, government and communities.
