STEM awards for 5-19 year olds

Primary Secondary and Advanced Leaders / Reporters Award for STEM

The Special Leaders Awards for 2011/12 have been announced.

Special Leaders Awards are run by Primary Engineer and linked to specific STEM areas. There are prizes for the winners. Students interview professionals from industry who have a background in STEM related occupations, and write a report about the conversation. 

The Leaders Award for STEM and the Reporters Award programme have been designed to raise young people’s awareness of careers in science, technology, engineering and maths. They are open to all young people aged 5-19 and is free to enter.

The process is simple: the students apply to Primary Engineer Leaders Award using an on-line application form which must be accompanied by a letter of application. Once accepted, the students must complete at least one interview with a representative from the world of science, technology, engineering or maths. The student then submits a written report of the interview. This is submitted electronically and assessed. If successful the students will receive their STEM Leader /STEM reporters Award certificate. If the report qualifies for one of our Special Awards the student will also receive a prize.
