SET Fair Standard

The UKRC's SET Fair Standard is the gender equality award for businesses and organisations in science, engineering and technology (SET), including the built environment and IT.

Launched in 2009, it is the UK's first high profile award that gives public recognition for excellence in gender equality in SET sectors.

The SET Fair Standard is independently assessed and moderated by experts in gender equality and SET sectors. The straightforward, on-site assessment process gives you a new opportunity for constructive engagement with employees, learners and members.

Who can take part?

The SET Fair Standard is customised for:

What are the benefits?

Strengthening practice and building reputation as a good practice employer in gender equality is key to attracting and retaining a talented and diverse workforce. Good equality and diversity practice is increasingly identified as an important factor in workplace productivity. It helps build relationships with customers, clients, students, volunteers, suppliers and others, and enables organisations to develop and deliver their services and products more effectively. Demonstrating your commitment and achievement in this area can help you secure contracts and meet funding requirements.

For public sector procurement or commissioning managers, the SET Fair Standard can be one of the equalities standards you list in your tendering/funding requirements and recommendations.
