Redundancy: Be prepared
This professional development course, hosted by Women in Technology aims to highlight awareness to attendees of the redundancy process and how to manage it.
The evening will be presented by Isabella Brusati- a legal professional with 15 years’ experience working for FTSE100 companies in the UK. She has managed hundreds of redundancies and is aware of what really happens behind the scenes.
In this session, Isabella will take you through the legal provisions that regulate redundancy and the practises some employers follow when downsizing their workforce. She will provide pragmatic advice on how to handle the redundancy process to your advantage, some techniques that may spare you from being made redundant and how to negotiate your package and get the highest cheque if you are "on the way out".
During the session attendees will:
- Learn the basics of employment law that regulates redundancy (jargon free)
- Identify the signs that may point to a redundancy exercise being in the pipeline
- Develop an action plan if you are the only person in your team targeted for redundancy
- Develop a strategy if your employer is not acting in compliance with the law
