What we do

We work at many levels and with a wide range of individuals and organisations to build gender equality in science, engineering, technology and the built environment. 

Organisational development services and consultancy for employers, businesses and organisations: tried and tested services that help organisations improve gender equality and diversity at all levels in STEM.

Special projectsWe run individual projects and initiatives that aim to build diversity and improve women's participation, progression or profile within science, engineering and technology.

Accreditation and award schemes: nearly 200 Chief Executives have signed our CEO Charter. We run the national SET Fair Standard for all SET businesses and organisations, and support the Athena Swan Charter for universities.

Training: we offer a variety of training days including training on gender equality to groups, networks, businesses and organisations.

Services for women: We work with organisations to help them provide training, mentoring and other support to women.

Events and awards: we run a range of events, including our annual high profile photograhpic award, Women of Outstanding Achievement and the WISE awards.

Advertising jobs and building profile: organisations wanting to demonstrate their commitment to diversity and extend their advertising reach can advertise on our website and through our networks, news and blog.

Get networked and informed - with the UKRC and WISE

Networks: our networks are considerable. In particular, we co-ordinate the Connect network for groups and organisations run by and for women in SET, and SPIDER, which brings together professional bodies.

GetSET Womena free online site for women in SET, and for women who work on SET issues or gender equality. Nearly 3,000 women are signed up, getting a monthly newsletter, special offers and advance notice of grants. Join us today!
