Get into Gear

Get into GEAR (Gender Equality Action Research) is an exciting action research project which is funded through the West Yorkshire Life Long Learning Network [link] and run by the UKRC.

Four local colleges and universities in West Yorkshire are engaged in action research to explore practical ways of creating an environment within their institutionwhich is conducive to both men and women, with a focus on students in science, engineering, technology and the built environment.

The project started off with a First GEAR event which incorporated elements of Gender Equality training and information about how to carryout action research. The Second GEAR event provided an opportunity for participants to share their progress and plan the next stages culminating in a Third GEAR event where plans will be made for writing up and disseminating the findings at Top GEAR. The project ends in summer 2010.
